The renovation of Gresham House, a fine Victorian villa that had fallen into a state of woeful disrepair, was a bold enterprise requiring imaginative architecture and inspirational interior design. The result is nothing less than spectacular: An oasis of discreet luxury consisting of eight beautiful residential suites and three superbly-equipped spa treatment rooms.
We became involved at the ground floor, so to speak, for we were invited to create a complete brand identity that captured the special character of the building and its facilities.
A typical modern spa can project a somewhat ‘medical’ ambience, recalling a clinic more than a luxurious space for rest and relaxation. And so it was vital that at every point of contact with guests existing and prospective, Gresham House should radiate a sense of calm and beauty.
Hence our work reflects both the historical period of the building and the fabulous botanical motifs of the interior décor, with their rich textures and colour palette.
Adapting this essentially-traditional design to the online context, particularly, required some ingenuity. But our client is delighted with the result for we have succeeded in bringing life and movement to their website.
We went on to apply the new brand identity across all of their digital platforms and printed collateral.
All told, the new design regime represents a successful synthesis of the values and aesthetic of a more gracious age with a very contemporary degree of comfort and sophistication. This visual approach, we think, precisely expresses the Gresham House proposition.
Our work received the enthusiastic endorsement of our particular client and the entire Board, and we continue to enjoy their confidence – not to mention a succession of on-going projects.
