We’ve been involved with Gonville’s excellent boutique hotel for some time now. However, we were honoured when they chose us to help them launch their Gresham House Wellness Spa. Drawing inspiration from the rich colours and textures of their decorative botanical theme, we provided a completely new look and feel across their digital platforms and printed collateral, and brought life and movement to their website.
With the completion of the renovation of Gresham House, a Victorian villa in the hotel grounds, imminent, Gonville Hotel wanted a visual identity to complement the beautifully designed interior of this stunning property.
Collateral covering both on and offline marketing were required including business cards, spa treatment menus, social media templates and more.
They also wanted a redesign of the hotel website to better reflect the style of the feature rooms in Gresham House as well as the newly refurbished rooms, lobby and more in the main hotel.
With 8 feature bedrooms, each themed around different botanicals, and three treatment rooms in the Gresham House Wellness spa, we had plenty of visual cues to aid our design.
We used Victorian-era botanical illustrations (painstakingly researched) to create a richly textured collage for use across business cards and other printed collateral for the spa. We coupled this with minimal typography and a warm colour palette to contrast with the vivid botanics.
This work gave us a clear visual style to carry through to the design of the hotel website along with decorative elements to bring some warmth and character to the layouts.
With the focus on visual branding at the top of the agenda (and ‘Instagram’ as a key watchword), the Gonville Hotel website features a host of short, full screen, looped videos showcasing the unique identity of this boutique establishment.
