Everybody knows the Gonville. It’s the imposing hotel in the heart of Cambridge, often with a beautiful vintage Bentley adorning the forecourt.
It scores consistently highly in the online rankings of ‘Best Hotel Cambridge’ and is widely regarded as one of the finest boutique establishments in the region.
However, while its stately architecture remains the icon of a more congenial age, the proprietors are committed to using every technique available to inform and attract a modern audience. And thanks to the generous referral of an influential third party, they appointed us to create a visual identity that conveyed the very essence of their proposition – namely, that of ‘gracious hospitality’.
Our first task was to review the content of the website and to enhance it where appropriate so that it more accurately reflected the special ambience of the hotel. We introduced a new, dynamic element to the site, imbuing it with life and movement.
Our initial appointment led to a range of related projects. In fact, we revised the ‘look and feel’ of their entire suite of visual communications, printed and digital. We even conceived and designed a whole range of branded items to reinforce the Gonville’s key proposition.
The client was highly receptive to our ideas and together we have formed a harmonious and productive partnership. Indeed, we have now worked on behalf of all three hotels in the group.
The Gonville continues to represent one of our most exciting and rewarding accounts, with its opportunities for elegant, sophisticated creative work.
